That whole women’s rights/gender equality thing

img_5317

So the meme goes, “As long as you live, you’ll never see a photograph of 7 women signing legislation about what men can do with their reproductive organs.” And we all had a good chuckle at Trump’s expense.

I was really interested in this post for two reasons. Firstly, because it’s a bill diverting US funds away from countries like Mexico that perform many illegal and dangerous abortions using a pill called Misoprostol, also known as Mifeprex, which essentially causes the woman’s body to have uncontrollable contractions and can cause severe liver and kidney damage. Damage that is irreversible.

And secondly, because it’s just another tired meme the mainstream media influenced Liberal snowflakes are using to denigrate someone they clearly know nothing about. When your rights are being taken away, I’ll stand with you and protest, I promise you that. Until then, take the time to research, ask questions and figure things out for yourselves.

What the media fails to bring up is that this isn’t Trump’s bill. Ronald Reagan put the bill into action in 1984. Bill Clinton repealed it, George W. Bush reinstated it, and wouldn’t you know, Obama took it out again.

Women are going to have abortions if they want to. I fully support that right. But for the sake of their health, let’s try to get the procedures done by reputable doctors, not back alley hacks in impoverished countries.

5 Bold Predictions for a Donald Trump Presidency

Donald Trump
On the eve of his inauguration, we take a look at 5 bold predictions for Donald Trump in the first 100 days as president.

• With one day left for Obama to pardon Hillary Clinton for her email controversy, (which many suspect he won’t do, frankly because Obama never really cared for her), it sets up the possibility of Trump ordering his own inquiry into the scandal. Actual likelihood: 3/10

• Millions of Americans were tired of the status quo career politicians, and Trump is quite clearly the opposite of that. He also has a warm relationship with Putin, who many see as a key to conflicts in the Middle East. Where George W. Bush and Obama failed to reach resolution, the Putin lead, Trump assisted duo will succeed. Actual likelihood: 6/10

• This one is easy. Trump will impeach himself. He’s a loose cannon, make no bones about it. I’d like to hope that he’ll have enough support around him to ask questions and give the right answers, but he just doesn’t strike me as the type. Should this happen, the more reliable, less unpredictable Mike Pence would take over. Actual likelihood 5/10

• Earlier this morning, it was announced that a man with connections to the Clinton family had been held for questioning related to an assassination attempt on Trump during his inauguration. This one may not be so bold, since a vast majority of Pro-Democrat supporters wanted anyone but him in office. Actual likelihood: 5/10

• Trump will scrap Obamacare, or the Affordable Care Act as it is officially known. This could prove costly, and highly unsuccessful, but Republican’s control both the senate and the house of representatives, so any bill requiring a high approval rate could easily be pushed through. It’s likely that a Trump presidency will see the act repealed and repackaged. Actual likelihood: 7/10

The Devil is in the Details

rtr45r4s

It’s been said, that the devil’s greatest trick, was proving to mankind that he never existed. This is certainly true of Obama’s eight years in office. How he has managed to convince a vast majority of his best intentions remains a mystery.

As his last week in the oval office winds down, I’ll be pointing to some of the biggest mistakes he made while in office. If I’ve forgotten any, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll amend the list.

• Certainly his worst mistake was the day after the attacks on Benghazi in Libya. In the rose garden he stated the attacks were in retaliation for a video mocking Mohammed. In truth, the entire handling of the ousting and murder of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in October 2011 was poorly executed, and the fall out immeasurable.

• Guantánamo prison, at the very Eastern tip of Cuba, is infamous for it’s barbaric style torture techniques, including electrocution of inmates with car batteries and waterboarding. Both techniques condemned under the Geneva conventions, outlining proper standards for the humanitarian treatment in war. It was in 2008 that Obama brought forth the idea of closing this detention facility. And it was on January 22, 2009, his second day in office, that he issued an executive order, directing that the prison be shut down. Almost eight years later, it still remains open.

• Obama has authorized 506 drone strikes that killed 3,040 terrorists and 391 civilians (a large amount of them women and children), compared to just 50 issued by the previous president, George W. Bush.

• Obama’s regime has sold more weapons than any administration since World War II. The numbers are staggering, close to $50 billion in 2015, and another $45 billion in 2016. Another report issued states that sales to Saudi Arabia alone topped $115 billion while he was in office.

I’m sure I missed a few, but these stood out the most for me.

Excerpts from the Declassified Intelligence Report

31grizzlysteppe11

The recently released Grizzly Steppe joint document assembled by the CIA/FBI/NSA and Homeland Security outlined some serious accusations at Russia, and Vladimir Putin’s regime. None of which, to this date, have been proven.

Homeland Security, I might add, also refused to sign off on this document, which you can read here.

Media Watch has received access to the Declassified report which you can read here.

NSA’s level of confidence has also been listed as moderate. And you would think, if anyone had pertinent info related to the supposed hacks, it would be that department.

Here are a few key excerpts from the “Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections” document:

• “Russia’s goals were to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Hillary Clinton and harm her electability and potential presidency.”

But the document also decides that Russia didn’t influence vote tallying.

• “Russian intelligence obtained and maintained access to elements of multiple US state or local electoral boards. DHS assesses that the types of systems Russian actors targeted or compromised were not involved in vote tallying.”

• “We have high confidence in these judgements, CIA and FBI, NSA has moderate confidence.”

• “Russian behaviour since early November 2016, increases our confidence in our assessment of Russian motivations and goals.”

• “Russia’s intelligence services conducted cyber operations against targets associated with the 2016 US presidential election, including targets associated with both major US political parties.”

• “Russia’s state-run propaganda machine (RT) contributed to the influence campaign by serving as a platform for Kremlin messaging to Russian and international audiences.”

Non Confidence Vote

This entry is in regards to this article: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-electoral-college-republican-faithless-electors-stop-election-result-a7473296.html

I’ve been under the weather for most of this week, but a reader sent me a link this afternoon and I thought it was worth sharing. I had read a bit about it, but with the Wisconsin recalls and election hacking probe, it flew under my radar.

To break things down, there are 538 electoral votes spread out over the 50 US states, and the majority of that (270), is required to be elected President. Now here’s where things get interesting. From the graphic above, you can see that Donald Trump was nominated the Republican representative with 7,234 votes (or 34.4%) of the Republican party, with Ted Cruz coming in second at 4,515 (21.4%) and finally Marco Rubio at 4,438 (21.1%).

These numbers are important, since the top three successful candidates would be revoted on, if there was a non confidence vote within the party. This could be for any number of reasons, such as illness, or simply the candidate being unfit to serve as president.

The race to 270 is also interesting in the sense that Trump,’s  final tally of 306 electoral votes, would mean the party would require 37 (the difference between his total, and the number required 270) to re-elect a new candidate.

As the above article states, this has happened only once in 1808, when six electors voted against James Madison.

The Russia Complex

There’s an inherent danger in making accusations, without providing evidence. In the political sense, it can lead to immediate conflict and even start wars.

Senior US Republican senator Lindsey Graham has said his campaign email account was hacked by Russians.

Early this morning, Graham told CNN that he believed “the Russians” hacked into the Democratic National Committee, and accused them of trying to “destabilise democracy all over the world”.

Russian officials have repeatedly denied the claims.

The irony here, is that the US government has been involved in influencing a number of elections throughout history. We’ve seen it in Guatemala, and most recently in Haiti in 2010/2015, and Honduras as recently as 2009.

During Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State, the Honduran military forced out democratically elected President Manuel Zelaya. The United Nations condemned the act of a military style coup, and the Organization of American States suspended Honduras’ membership, calling for Zelaya to be reinstated.

“If the United States government declares a coup, you immediately have to shut off all aid, including humanitarian aid, the Agency for International Development aid, the support that we were providing at that time for a lot of very poor people,” Clinton had said in April of 2009.

It’s difficult to say the impact the US government has had on the people of Haiti, given the number of US sponsored coups and low voter turnout as recent as 2015 resulted in an 18 percent of registered voter turnout. Additionally, 23 percent of all votes were never counted, due to fraud and violence on Election Day.

But the meddling didn’t stop there. United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon apologized earlier this week for the treatment of Haitian’s by the UN, after years of denial.

In regards to Russia, it’s an all too familiar scapegoat. An easy target.

Undemocratic States of America

Since it’s inception in 1787, the Electoral College has guarded against Democratic or Republican leaning states (traditionally California, New York and Texas, Florida, respectively) from influencing who is elected as President. In almost 130 years, only three times has someone with a larger number of total votes lost the Presidency. But suddenly, in an election where the democratic candidate lost, in this case one Hillary Clinton, the system is in need of eradication.

This article, is nothing more than an attempt to whip the American people into the same sort of rage their Purple Revolution attempted.

It’s unjust, and it’s undemocratic.

BBC, or the Biased Broadcasting Corporation, as I like to call it has long been a harbinger of democratic slanted news reports, despite being tax payer funded.

Standing Rock: What you need to know

It’s been brought to my attention by a few people, that more coverage should be placed on the events at Standing Rock. I’ve spent the last couple hours researching, and have put together an info sheet that should help educate and inform.

1. An initial Keystone pipeline access route was originally set to enter through an area just North of Bismarck, North Dakota (the capital city of close to 67,000 people). But due to concerns of a spill and to reduce risk, was moved to just North of Cannon Ball, a town of 875.

2. On site guards originally deployed attack dogs and military personnel used armoured vehicles and riot gear to combat “aggresive intrusions on privately owned land.”

3. These protests were supposed to be peaceful.

4. Billionaire owner of Energy Transfer, Kelcy Warren, a Texas based entrepreneur, worth an estimated $4 billion, according to Forbes Magazine, is spearheading the pipeline project.

5. This isn’t just a local issue, as the local tribe has said they fear the project “will disturb sacred sites and impact drinking water for thousands of tribal members on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation and millions further downstream.”

Republic of the United States of America

countymap2012-main_-800x430
It is a common misconception, that the United States of America is a democratic state. It is not, in fact. It is instead a republic. This years election proved that point implicitly.

That a state like California, with it’s nearly 40 million people, 55 electoral votes and just shy of 2 million votes alone in the city of Los Angeles were registered for Hillary Clinton, shows a desperate need for voter reform. Or perhaps to that note, a total abolishment of the electoral voting process completely.

Further to that point, when a citizen of Wyoming’s vote counts for four times that of one in Michigan, or in Vermont, three times that of Missouri, the limitations on a true electoral voting system are highlighted rather boldly.

So while both systems elect politicians to represent their interests to form a government, in a republic, each vote is not in fact equal.

POTUS Oversight

Obama must think the American people have short term memories.

During his two terms:
• He promised to close Guantanamo Bay Detention camp, a prison holding facility operated by the US Military. It still remains open.
• He was personally responsible for the approval of 423 drone strikes, killing up to 116 unarmed civilians and injuring close to 200 children
• His administration is to blame for mismanagement of the attacks on Benghazi that killed US Ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens.
• Operation Fast and Furious allowed more than 2,000 illegal firearms into the US by way of Mexico.
• 162 mass murders between 2009-2015, and 18 incidents involving 8 or more deaths, compared to 20 mass murders under the Bush administration.
